An exciting new initiative at the TDSB is looking at how we use the space in our schools to fully support students, families and the community. I have the privilege of serving on the Steering Committee of this initiative, which is called the Full Service School Task Force.
As we explore the idea of re-purposing our unused school space (instead of closing it), we will find effective and cost efficient methods to provide a wide variety of supports that improve family life and student outcomes.
I will be visiting each school in Ward 15 to hear from parents and community members about how we can do a better job of using schools to serve them.
